Job Description
The Baybrook Business Unit currently has an opening for a Project Manager. SAIC's customer is seeking a project team to assist in the enhancement of their existing system and the development of Phase II. The project Manager's role is to manage the team and the project for SAIC.

The Project Team will be responsible for developing and maintaining all software system components required by the Systems Project, including tasks related to application and data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, production infrastructure implementation, administration, and maintenance, design and development of any of the Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) processes, testing, debugging, implementation, and documentation of the system.

The Project Team will be responsible for following all customer security and technical policies and standards.

The Project Team will meet or have conference calls with appropriate staff to develop plans for enhancements, fixes and maintenance of the System

The Project Team will be responsible for all software development and system artifacts.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the continued maintenance and enhancement of the base system for which they are developing Phase II.

The Project Team will be responsible for following Rational Unified Process for software development and for using the IBM Rational tools for software development tasks.


REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:
BS or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.

A minimum of eight (8) years experience as the lead project manager on mid to large-sized IT software development projects which included analysis, design, coding, quality assurance, implementation, infrastructure and security tasks.
A minimum of four (4) years experience developing and managing project schedules and resources, using Microsoft Project.
A minimum of four (4) years experience performing risk management including risk identification, risk assessment, monitoring, and controlling risks.
A minimum of four (4) years experience developing and executing project communications plans.
A minimum of four (4) years experience managing project execution and control.
Ability to clearly and correctly communicate in both written and spoken English.


DESIRABLE Experience:

Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and post-certification experience. Provide date of certification and PMP number.

Experience applying the NYS Project Management methodology to manage projects.

Experience in managing business process redesign, business process improvement or change management projects.

Experience with managing projects in the health care field.

Experience facilitating workshops and focus group sessions.

Experience training and mentoring project managers.

Experience with the NYS Department of Health project management environment and using the Department’s project management methodology.

Experience with the IBM Rationale suite, specifically ClearQuest and Requisite Pro, Version 6.0 or higher.
